On this first day of February Archbishop Bernard Longley celebrated a Mass for Religious at St Chad’s Cathedral. In thanksgiving he recognized them ‘as a central dimension in the mission of the local Church’. Acknowledging the variety of their works and the vital contribution they play in the life of the Archdiocese, he added, ‘In all that you are and through the things that you do you are making the Church present in the lives of local families and local communities, welcoming the lost and the stranger into the friendship of Christ himself.’
The Archbishop also recognized today the commitment and dedication of those who were celebrating their special jubilees of Religious profession. Those present were Sr Marie Joynes, Sr Luke Lennon and Sr Therese Browne.
