St Chad’s Cathedral, St Chad’s Queensway, Birmingham, West Midlands, B4 6EU

An opportunity to see parts of the Cathedral not normally open to visitors, and hear about its fascinating history. A Victorian Gothic masterpiece by AWN Pugin, St Chad’s was the first Catholic cathedral to be built in England after the Reformation. Some medieval artefacts are on display.

  • Thursday 11 September: Tour 1000, finishing 1200
  • Saturday 13 September: Tour 1330, finishing 1530

Access

There are 8 disabled parking bays in front of the Cathedral. There is wheelchair access to the Cathedral and access to a disabled toilet. There is partial access to the Crypt by lift but there are several steps up or down in to some of the chapels.

Additional information

Max 40 people per tour/session. One tour available on Thursday morning and one tour available on Saturday afternoon. Maximum 40 people per tour. Places booked on first come, first served basis. To book your place please contact the Cathedral Reception.
