The Rector of St Mary’s College, Oscott, Father David Oakley, was installed as a Canon of St Chad’s Cathedral in a ceremony on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. The Rite of Installation took place in the presence of His Grace, the Archbishop and the chief celebrant was the Provost of the Chapter, Bishop David McGough. Former parishioners of Father Oakley were in attendance in large numbers along with staff and students from Oscott.
